The Facilities
Set in 250 acres of outstanding natural beauty, St. George's Park is possibly the most exquisite and visionary development, for the over 60's, available on the market.
This innovative concept will enable you to enjoy the freedom to concentrate on pleasures and pursuits. So, if you want to close your door and hop on a ferry to France, or visit family abroad, without the worry of maintenance and security, then you can do just that without a second thought.
Life at St. George's Park is designed around making life as simple as possible and utilises state-of-the-art technology to make everything run smoothly; all the new apartments have been designed for retirement living and will be sold on a 125 year lease.
The telecommunications network will allow free calls within the park, with digital communications for internet access. Satellite TV cabling is provided for each apartment.
In addition to on site parking for your convenience there is a minibus service and a pool of cars available for your use (subject to conditions) - no need to keep and maintain a car for occasional use.
Leisure facilities at St George’s Park include a well stocked fishing lake with fresh water fish.
Other outdoor facilities will include a bowling green, a tennis court and an extensive footpath network within the estate. The woodlands feature bluebells in spring and rare protected orchids in the lawns. The many wildfowl inhabiting the lakes and surrounding areas are also protected. Purchase Wood and the front lawns are two designated sites of Special Nature Conservation Interest (SNCI).
Indoor pursuits such as yoga, aerobics, stretch classes and so on will take place in an exercise studio. A purpose-built, well-equipped leisure facility will cater for those who prefer to spend their time in the indoor swimming pool, spa or multi-purpose gym.
Maes Court incorporates a treatment room to be utilised by visiting therapists. Emergency support is available 24 hours a day through the telecoms system - that can have additional alarms fitted where necessary. A pharmacy delivery service brings any necessary medication to the site each day.
The Community
"December 2006 saw the village spring to life with the first residents moving into their luxury apartments in both Maple and Maes Courts.
The newly formed Residents Association has organized a number of clubs and societies for those interested - art, local history, scrabble and bridge to name but a few. Residents have also arranged outings to the theatre, the cinema, the ballet and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and currently interest is being established for the numerous events at the Brighton Festival this coming May.
Plans for a band to visit for midsummer’s day are also underway with a BBQ during the afternoon. We are sure this will be the first of many such events, and reflects the undeniable fact that it is the residents themselves that are bringing the St Georges Park village to life.
Amongst the special meals and events that have already taken place are a St Valentines dinner, Mother’s Day lunch, St Patrick’s Day lunch (with Guinness £1 a pint and Irish coffees galore!), and of course St George’s Day.
Theme nights continue to be planed for the future, alternating every last Friday of the month with a wine tasting followed by dinner. There is a carvery every Wednesday and Sunday, happy hours every Sunday evening, and all this in the first 3 months!
The games room with snooker and table tennis tables is being used on games nights organised by the residents, and the therapy room is used by visiting therapists from chiropractor and massage therapists to reflexology and chiropodists. The therapists and hairdressing salon is by appointment through the concierge.
The gym equipment has arrived and has been installed. This specialist equipment adjusts to the user and can be used for all levels. Many residents have already had their induction
and along with the opportunity to take country walks in the grounds some have stepped up their fitness regimes".
